I wanted to encapsulate the experience that was Curosity 2024 coming into that weekend. I bought a canvas the day we left our home in San Diego to venture up to the Mojave Desert north-east of Los Angeles. This was the first festival I've painted at where I tried to paint from start to finish all in one setting. Luckily after meditating on it a little the first night of the event, it hit me that everything I needed was right there in front of me. 
 
I take most of my inspiration from the natural world that I see. Whenever I'm out in the desert, it always strikes me how vast and majestic the night sky can be. I wanted to try to make the night sky the focus of the piece, but also try to capture some of the magic on the ground. Even when it rained for a little and I thought the event was over, as soon as the clouds passed, everything came to life again under the starry sky. 
 
I got alot of inspiration for this piece from people I met at the festival as well! Such as adding the milky way to cover a mistake, or adding in the little orb just coming over the mountain to see if that would manifest a real one visting us.
